Appraisal and Valuation

A written report for insurance, inheritance and sale

Appraisal and Valuation

An appraisal report with weight, carat purity and market value for your jewellery and stones.

From 750 TRY per piece

An appraisal report is the official-style document needed for insurance policies, inheritance division, divorce and partnership disputes, or simply to set a price before a sale. Our reports are signed by a gemmologist, illustrated with photographs and date-stamped.

What the report contains

  • Metal type, carat purity and gross and net weight
  • Number of stones, carat, colour, clarity and cut assessment
  • Instrument and method used
  • Replacement (insurance) value and second-hand market value

Standard reports are ready the same day; estate files with many pieces take three working days. The replacement value can be updated annually for inflation and the gold rate.

When is it needed?

You can have an appraisal done when adding jewellery to an insurance policy, in inheritance division, divorce and partnership disputes, when pledging as collateral to a bank, or simply when you wonder what your jewellery is worth today. Because the report includes a photograph, measurements and the gemmologist's signature it is accepted as an independent document.

Scope of service

  • Gemmologist-signed report
  • Replacement value for insurance
  • Same-day delivery
  • Annual update

Frequently asked questions

Are diamonds sold with certificates?
All diamonds of 0.20 ct and above are sold with an independent laboratory report. The report number matches the laser inscription on the stone's edge. For smaller stones a Lalezar care card and a purity-and-weight declaration are provided.
How long does a bespoke piece take?
The sketch is ready the same day and the 3D model within three working days. After approval, casting, setting and polishing typically take 14 to 21 days. In busy periods (February, December) this can extend by seven days.
Can I turn my old gold into a new piece?
Yes. Your old jewellery is weighed, its purity measured and a written melt report given. All or part of the gold can go into the new piece; the unused part is credited at the current rate.
Are resizing and care really free?
For every piece you buy, annual cleaning, a setting check and one free resizing of up to one size are included. Lost stones and impact damage are not covered and are repaired at cost.
Does white gold turn yellow over time?
White gold is in fact a slightly yellowish alloy whitened with rhodium plating. When the plating wears with use, yellowing can appear. Renewal is free in the first two years; afterwards the plating costs between 600 and 1,200 TRY.
